There’s a new spark of life inside the Galleria in downtown Cleveland. Construction is nearing completion on the $7 million, state-of-the-art, Parker Hannifin YMCA.
A three lane lap pool is now being built above the Galleria parking garage. The aquatic center will also include a sauna and in addition to swimming, there will be a lot of sweating.
“Lots of cardio, strength training equipment, group exercise classes all day long,” says YMCA marketing specialist Amanda Lloyd.
The spin room will hold 25 bikes. There are also exercise rooms for Zumba and Pilates classes, to name a few.
“Yoga, hot yoga, power yoga, so if you want to do some meditation before you head to work or after,” adds Lloyd.
The 40,000 square foot facility will cater to the younger and business crowds.
“Everyone who lives and works downtown this will be their home away from home,” she says.
The new Y includes a lot of perks as well, a massage therapy center in the locker room and personal fitness trainers readily available. You’ll be able to book appointments online or at the front desk. Your first workout with a trainer is free. You can sign up now to be a member.
The price varies but financial assistance is available.
“No one is turned away because of an inability to pay,” says Lloyd.
The Parker Hannifin YMCA is schedule to open in late March.
The YMCA is also working on a partnership with a major healthcare provider to house an urgent care facility inside the new fitness center.
