Five Browns Players to Watch in the Preseason Opener

1. Robert Griffin III.

Coaches and fans are interested to see how RG3 will perform as starting QB.  But he won’t see much action during the preseason.

2.  Emmanuel Ogbah

A Second-round pick, linebacker out of Oklahoma State. Ogbah was a sack machine in college (24 over his final two seasons),  the Browns will use him in multiple positions to try to get him to the quarterback.

3.  Rashard Higgins

The rookie wide receiver put up the numbers at Colorado State, setting multiple school records and finding the end zone 31 times during his college career. The question is, can he separate from defensive backs in the NFL?  Some question
the 5th-round pick’s speed, but Higgins, who brings more than a little ‘swag’ to the table, predicts big things for himself. Friday night, his NFL journey begins.

4.  Spencer Drango

Part of the Browns-Baylor connection is on hold right now (Coleman, Josh Gordon), but at least Drango gives RG3 one fellow alum on the field. More than that, he can make a big push for the starting right tackle job. The rookie will have
to really impress to beat out veterans Austin Pasztor and Alvin Bailey.

5.  Scooby Wright III

The linebacker out of Arizona, drafted in the 7th round, is buried on the depth chart and may be a longshot to make this team, but it’ll be fun watching the undersized underdog make a run at it. College football fans remember his production two years ago, when he racked up 14 sacks and swept the awards for top linebacker in the nation. Last season, he was sidelined by injuries, which is how he fell to the final round of the Draft. Now he gets a chance to show that he’s back.
