POOL/CNN) – Former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel is apologizing to fans on social media and showing some determination to mount a comeback.

The troubled former Heisman trophy winner was tagged in a tweet Monday showing video of one of his touchdown runs.

Manziel replied to it by saying he’ll do whatever he can to make it right.

Later Monday the 23-year-old free agent posted on Instagram that he’ll be back.

The Cleveland Browns released Manziel this year after two lackluster seasons.

He is facing a misdemeanor assault charge from a January incident.

The NFL suspended Manziel for the first four games of the upcoming season for failing a drug test but he has yet to be picked up by a team.
