(CNN) – Samsung is looking to bounce back from its Galaxy Note 7 debacle. The company reports its new device, the Galaxy A smartphone, is a low-cost alternative to its popular Galaxy S line.

Unlike other Samsung smartphones, the Galaxy A is water- and rust-resistant. It also has a 16-megapixel camera and includes a selfie mode that lets the user tap anywhere on the phone’s screen to take a photo.

The company is expected to launch the Galaxy A initially in Russia in late January. It’s unclear when it will debut in the US.

Samsung yanked the Galaxy Note 7 from stores last year due to a number of the phones catching fire while charging.
